Grant FAQ

1.  For grant 2003 the grant guidelines state “Agencies with annual substance abuse budgets less than $1,000,000 are encouraged to apply.” Does this mean that agencies with an annual s.a. budget more than $1,000,000 will not be considered? And if an agency comprised of many departments, some with a budget over $1,000,000, but their s.a. prevention department having a budget less than $1,000,000, are they eligible?

In the Keep Kids Drug Free Foundation Grant Guidelines (which all applicants should have received in order to submit an application) under the Elegibility Section, the last line of this section states: "Agencies with annual substance abuse budgets less than $1,000,000 are encouraged to apply and will receive up to five (5) bonus points".  This does not mean that agencies with budgets over $1,000,000 will not be considered, the only thing this means is that these agencies will not receive the 5 bonus points.  In regard to an agency with several departments - the Grant Guidelines state that the Keep Kids Drug Free Foundation is concerned with the "Annual Substance Abuse Budget" being less than $1,000,000 and that is the department that should be considered by an Agency when an application is submitted.
