Q. Where can I obtain a "Keep Kids Drug Free" auto tag?
A. It is available at any county license tag office. Thank you for caring
about youth and putting "Keep Kids Drug Free" on your vehicle!
Q. What is "Keep Kids Drug Free"?
A. "Keep Kids Drug Free" is a specially designed automobile license
plate to promote community awareness of the need to prevent juvenile alcohol
and drug abuse.
Q. Where does the money go?
A. For each license plate sold, $25 goes toward funding programs and
services that are designed to prevent youth and family substance abuse.
Q. How does this help my community?
A. The revenue generated from the sale of license plates will be distributed
to prevention programs in your community and through in a grant process
intended to assist prevention prgrams throughout the state of Florida.
Q. Who determines how the money will be spent?
A. The money initially goes into the Keep Kids Drug Free Trust Fund.
KKDF Foundation Trustees working with members in the prevention community
will decide award recipients.
Q. How does the money generated help solve the juvenile drug problem?
A. It helps fund programs aimed at keeping at-risk youth off of drugs
and out of trouble. This is a step in the right direction to stop our youth
early before they begin or continue a life of drugs and crime.
Q. How much money is the "Keep Kids Drug Free" auto tag generating?
A. Over $100,000 dollars were generated through tag sales in its intial
year of availability. The KKDF Foundation will offer up to $25,000 in grant
funds to fund prevention programs in Florida in
2001.
Q. How does "Keep Kids Drug Free" compare with the sale of other
specialty tags?
A. In 1999, "Keep Kids Drug Free was third among new tags, with the
popular "Save the Dolphin" tag leading new plate sales. The tag was
only available for 6 months in 1999 making a comparison to other tags unrealistic.
The two top sellers continue to the Manatee and Panther tags.
